A: God does not care what you do so long as you do what she says. Ever have a girlfriend want to pick a different restaurant or movie just to see whether you love her enough to make the sacrifice? That's god for you. She doesn't need a sacrificial goat but enjoys the ego gratification.
No, I don't really believe this, because I find it very unlikely that there is a conscious god, but this silly rationalization popped into my head as I awoke this morning and make me chuckle. Hope it did the same for you.
